Abhyanga Certification Overview
Our 5-night program is designed for a complete immersion of Ayurveda and Abhyanga. Each day includes morning yoga, nourishing organic Ayurvedic meals, Ayurvedic tea service, and evening meditation, woven around rich educational lectures and hands-on practicum sessions. You'll receive a printed and digital workbook, a full video library of techniques, and personalized guidance throughout your training.
This experience offers 50 hours of Continuing Education credit and culminates in certification upon completion of practice hours and an online exam. More than a course, it’s a heart-centered journey into the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.

Explore the foundational principles of Ayurvedic physiology through the lens of somatic intelligence. This session covers the five elements, the three doshas and their subtypes, and the 20 gunas—revealing how they govern the body, mind, and sensory experience. Learn to recognize imbalances and respond through breath, touch, and awareness.
We’ll also explore the skin as a powerful healing organ, deeply responsive to oils, pressure, and aroma. Through the ancient practice of Abhyanga, you’ll discover how Ayurvedic touch therapy awakens the body’s natural intelligence and supports lasting vitality.

This day blends the foundational skills of safe, effective Ayurvedic practice with the art of herbal oil formulation. You’ll learn how to assess each client’s constitution (Prakriti) and current imbalances (Vikriti), ensure informed consent, and determine appropriate treatments. In the afternoon, we shift into the traditional practice of crafting dosha-specific herbal oils, deepening your understanding of the skin as a gateway for healing. This hands-on day empowers you with the practical tools and protocols to deliver personalized, therapeutic Abhyanga treatments.

MEET YOUR FACILITATORS
Kathy Jo Staheli, AD, PKT, AYT
Kathy Jo Staheli, AD, is a NAMA-recognized Ayurvedic doctor and founder of Purusha Ayurveda, with nearly 20 years of experience specializing in Panchakarma. Trained in both the U.S. and India, she has served as a practitioner and global business manager for Kerala Ayurveda Academy and played a key role in the National Ayurvedic Medical Association for nearly seven years, where she now chairs the Panchakarma Committee. Kathy Jo offers deeply rooted, authentic Ayurvedic care and education to a global community.
Cecilia Molinar, PkT
Cecilia Molinar Zubieta is a Panchakarma Technician and Certified Yoga Instructor with expertise in somatic movement, dance therapy, and therapeutic yoga. She has studied various movement techniques, including Feldenkrais, Danceability, and Butoh, and has a deep understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and mind-body practices. Cecilia integrates her knowledge of movement and yoga with Abhyanga, utilizing her expertise in rhythm, touch, and body awareness to enhance the healing power of Ayurvedic bodywork. She also works at the Morosoli Neuropsychology clinic, focusing on neurodevelopment and the therapeutic benefits of movement and meditation.
Tanner Rosenthal, LMT, PKT
Tanner Rosenthal is a Panchakarma Technician with over 15 years of experience in the healing arts. He began his journey as an LMT in Salt Lake City and soon after interned at Herb Pharm, where he studied the properties of 180 single herbs and more than 85 proprietary formulas to help take care of mind, body, and spirit.
He joined the Purusha team in 2020 and is an integral part of our Panchakarma programs and workshop facilitation. His compassion for people, animals, and the health of the planet is a drive behind his work and is felt in his practice and teaching.
