Our Way of Practice

Purusha Yogaśālā is a sanctuary for the integration of body, mind, and spirit in service of embodied awareness and the recognition of Purusha, pure consciousness. Rooted in the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda, it offers a space to move beyond surface-level practice into deeper presence, healing, and realization. This is not only a yoga studio, but a living space of practice, study, and community.

At the heart of our approach are depth and consistency. We trust that true transformation arises through steady, repeated practice over time rather than constant change or variety. For this reason, our schedule is intentionally simple and stable, with classes held at the same times each week to support embodied understanding and integration. In this steadiness, practice is given the space to deepen, moving beyond the surface and taking root in daily life. Here, yoga is not something to try, but something to return to, until it begins to live through you.

A space like this only works when it’s lived. It’s shaped by the presence, integrity, and willingness of each person who walks through the door. What we build here, we build together.

Retreat Yoga & Meditation

Retreat Yoga

Supporting Agni, Prana, Ojas & the Body's Natural Healing Process

This therapeutic Ayurvedic yoga class is specifically designed to support the cleansing, detoxification, and rejuvenation processes of Panchakarma. Rooted in classical Ayurvedic principles, each practice works in harmony with the doshas, agni (digestive and metabolic fire), prana (vital life force), ojas (vital essence), the seven dhatus (body tissues), and the body's natural functions of digestion, circulation, elimination, and restoration.

Through gentle movement, breathwork, restorative postures, and meditation, the practice helps kindle agni, regulate prana, support healthy elimination, and preserve ojas throughout the cleansing process. Adapted to the changing needs of guests during their retreat, this class encourages deep rest, enhanced vitality, nervous system balance, and a greater connection to the body's innate healing intelligence.

Suitable for all levels and designed to complement and enhance the therapeutic benefits of Panchakarma.

*Offered Daily at 6:15 am for Retreat Guests

Retreat Yoga Nidra

A Practice of Deep Rest & Conscious Relaxation

Yoga Nidra, often translated as "yogic sleep," is a guided meditation practice that invites the body into profound relaxation while the mind remains gently aware. Practiced lying comfortably in savasana, it offers a unique opportunity to release physical tension, quiet mental activity, and access deeper states of rest and restoration.

Through systematic relaxation and guided awareness, Yoga Nidra helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and cultivate emotional balance. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this practice supports the flow of prana, replenishes ojas, calms the doshas, and creates the conditions for healing, integration, and renewal.

Suitable for all levels, Yoga Nidra requires no movement or prior meditation experience. Simply come as you are and allow yourself to be guided into a state of deep rest, inner stillness, and effortless awareness.

*Offered Daily at 7:15 pm for Retreat Guests

** Our retreat yoga classes are designed to support the healing journey of our retreat guests and are included as part of their retreat program. We warmly welcome community members to join when space permits, though retreat guests are always given priority. Public attendance is offered on a standby basis and is subject to availability.

Our Values

Our work is grounded in the foundational values of the sanctuary, shaping every aspect of how we live, teach, and serve. We cultivate community through meaningful connection, shared practice, and a deep sense of belonging and collective growth rooted in bhakti and sangha.

We honor balance as the ongoing practice of harmony between body, mind, emotions, energy, lifestyle, and the natural rhythms of life, guided by yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom. Awareness is nurtured through conscious living, self-inquiry, presence, and an ever-deepening awakened understanding. Compassion is expressed through gentleness, integrity, empathy, and heart-centered care that supports true healing.

We emphasize integration as the wholeness that arises when ancient wisdom, embodied practice, and holistic wellbeing are brought together in lived experience. And we hold reverence as a guiding principle, honoring the sacredness of life, healing, nature, lineage, and the ongoing process of inner transformation.

Community & Shared Stewardship

Purusha Yogaśālā is not built by one person alone, it is shaped by everyone who enters the space.

We are dedicated to creating a safe and nourishing environment that supports growth on all levelsphysical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual. This is a community that fosters health, mindfulness, and connection through the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Presence matters here. Integrity matters here. The willingness to show up, return, and participate in something steady and real is what gives this space its depth.

A Living Practice

This is a space for slow, embodied growth. A place where practice becomes integrated into daily life rather than existing as something separate from it.

Here, yoga is not about achieving a version of yourself, it is about remembering what is already here. Over time, practice becomes less something you do, and more something you live.

Depth Over Variety

We believe transformation does not come from constant change, but from steady, reliable practice over time.

For this reason, our schedule remains simple and consistent, the same classes at the same times each week. This rhythm is intentional. It allows the body to learn through repetition, the nervous system to settle into safety, and the mind to soften through familiarity.

Rather than offering endless styles or novelty, we choose depth over variety. We return again and again to what is essential, allowing understanding to unfold slowly, naturally, and sustainably.

Rooted in community, balance, awareness, compassion, integration, and reverence, our values are not concepts, but a way of being in relationship with life.
